Engine.
T: Which is more important? Engine or
wheels?
l
Initially, some said wheels,
some said engine!
T: Which is more important? Car key or
engine? How about steering or the wheels?
l
After some thoughts, the kids realized
that the car parts need one another is like what we always stressed in class, “Unity
is powerful!”
l
However, if cars break down in
the middle of the street, we can get people to push it to a safer side and to
ease the traffic jam. This is done by a driver adjusting the steering while the
others pushing the car.
l
Different vehicles have got
engine at different parts. Some old cars still have engine at the boot. Today’s
modern cars have engine under the hood.
l
Buses’ engine is at its back
part under the seats. Lorries and trucks have got engine under its head. These
vehicles usually go to their truck or bus workshop. A normal mechanic might not
necessary be able to repair these heavy vehicles.
b)
Craft: Police hat and logo.
l
I showed the kids the step-by-step
guidance to make the hat. First, they measured the long strap of cardboard onto
their head, then, I helped them to adjust it. They paste the ends together.
l
Next, they paste the round
strap to a rainbow arc cardboard.
l
Finally, they cut the Police
logo which they coloured yesterday to be pasted onto a hard cardboard. Then,
they paste the logo to the hat. Tomorrow, we shall be doing the badge and
handcuff.
