Quiz

Thursday (20/05/2010)

a) Flashcards
* We did reading of vocabulary. Among: Megabat, Microbat, fruit, meat, echolocation, habitat, winter, sleep, upside down, insects, trees, caves, day, mammal and night.
* As we read second round, I quickly asked the kids the meaning of each word.

b) Quiz!
* The class was divided into 3 groups. Each has got 1 or 2 6-year-old to be equal.
* I introduced 1 - 15. We looked at the numbers on the board and read together.
* There were 12 questions and we played 3 rounds. Thus, a group got to answer 3 questions.
* First, they picked a number randomly and I showed them the key words on the cardboard. It was fun and happy to know that they know what they were learning about. Among:
- Bats' habitats.
- Types of bats and their food.
- Benefits of bats.
- When do they sleep.
- Whay can't they stand?
- Mother bats and pups.
- Mammals.
- Echolocation.
- Body parts.
* Each group was awarded with some Milo cornflakes crunches with the highest scored-group
got more, less and then least. Everyone was a winner.

c) Craft: Bat decoration.
* We continued with our Bat craft which the kids didn't manage to complete before going for National Science Centre Trip.
* Wow......the kids really were creative. My bat craft was just a simple one but theirs: wore glasses, have got crosses, have got headbands, have got long tails, spiky claws and etc.
* Objective of this craft was to reinforced their knowledge on bats' body parts and colours besides strengthening their motor skill.
