Petronas Twin Towers.

Friday (17/02/2012)

a) Memory.

* Kuala Lumpur is famous for its Petronas Twin Towers. The kids have visited it for a few times during their outdoor trips for the past two years. Thus, kids recalled of facilities they could remember. Their first memory, “McDonalds”! Haaa……! Of course, there’s also a huge and beautiful playground, some fountains, a small swimming pool, and many shops and stalls in KLCC Suria shopping mall.

b) Constructing Petronas Twin Towers.
* I sketched the picture and before learning about the details, kids were divided into 4 teams. The teams could choose which materials to use to construct the towers. Materials: Lego, wooden blocks, plastic blocks and finally, cups and bowls.
* This activity focuses on team work and creativity skills. Most kids were tolerant at arranging, constructing and thinking. They even discussed on how to improvise on the buildings.
The kids exchanged thir materials. Their second attempt were better!

c) About Petronas Twin Towers.
* Currently, the fifth tallest tower in the world after Taipei 101. However, it’s the tallest twin towers building in the world. It consists of 88 floors. Tower 1 is linked to Tower 2 by a skybridge. There are many lifts in each tower. Each tower has got offices with Tower 1 occupied by Petronas Organisation. It also has a huge popular shopping mall; KLCC Suria mall. There’s also a theathre which usually holds orchestra performances.
* The Skybridge is used as an emergency exit besides enabling tourist to have a beautiful view from up there. We shall learn more of Petronas KLCC next week.
