Badminton Match

Monday (20/06/2011)

a) A E I O U
• Last week, Zhe Qing suggested that we play this game. I asked the kids to explain rules of the games and they were quite good and excited. We played in batches at first with 6 years old doing the demonstration.

b) The mini helicopter
• Shawn shared his game of mini helicopter. It has got a light and a pair of wings to help it fly. The kids took turns to fly this at the garden. Shawn guided us and oh…..yes…it was cool and fun!

c) Badminton Match
• The kids chose their pairs and for this match, we shall be selecting winners of “Gold, Silver and Bronze” medal. The others who were determined at playing will be awarded “Determined Medal”.
• Kids learnt that: winners and runners up are in every game. Losing is a step nearer of being better at next game.
• They learnt to cheer positively rather than uttering unpleasant phrases such as “That’s not good, I’m better and etc”.
• Cheers: Go, go, go Qian Joe……You can do it Xing Tong and etc.

d) Results
• The kids were all determined at the match and our winning points were only 7 as decided by the kids. Of the 18 kids, 4 will qualify for the semi final round tomorrow. They are Qian Joe, Jun Yu, Alisa. Weei Xiang and Yun Xin will be competing tomorrow as they were absent today. Yee Xuan said, “It was a fun day!” Indeed…..games and sports are fun!
