The Boat Origami.

Friday (03/06/2011)

a) Boat origami.
• 2 kids were invited to fold a boat origami. Shawn and wee Hong did the demonstration.
• They were good. Then, I showed the kids step by step.
• Each kid was given a rectangle paper and they started folding the paper into a square and cut the excessive part. They were okay except the part where they have to turn the paper inside out which needed my assistance.
• Next, they wrote their name on it with the words “Dragon Boat”.

b) Colouring.
• As they have not finished colouring, the kids continued with their boat colouring.
• Upon completing, they cut the boats out and pasted onto their boats.

c) The paddler.
• Shawn asked if we could put a toy person in it. Of course, the kids took small pieces of paper and drew pictures of people except. They cut them out and made into finger puppet similar to what we did last year. Some kids could remember how to make.
• Then, they pasted the paddler onto the boat.

d) Ideas.
• People can race boats on the water. However, we didn’t want them to be wet. Thus, we blew them on the table. Some thought of using the fan. It moved but not in a straight line. Nevertheless, it could still be a race.
