“BINGO” Card Game

Monday (23/05/2011)

a) Vocabulary recap
• We recapped on words that kids chose for the theme. They got better and even asked me to add on new words such as oyster.

b) Our caring class.
• Last Saturday, Kwong Yong went for a surgery to remove a little lump from his skin. He said he cried a little and wasn’t that painful.  Thus, I reminded the kids to be more graceful at their actions especially if they are at the playground. Again, we uttered good words towards Kwong Yong hoping that our positive magnet would speed up his recovery.

c) The 4th Game.
• Some kids kept asking me about the 4th. Game. The earlier 3 games taught last week included “Numbers”, “Open and Close”, “Snap”. The 4th game; I named it “BINGO”.
• There could be 4 to 6 players. Each player is given equal number of cards. Then they have to remove paired cards. Next, they take turn to take a card from a player. If paired up, he has to remove the paired cards. Otherwise, his number of cards will increase. The player who finishes first is the champion.

d) Group play.
• The kids were grouped into 4 and they chose their members. Meanwhile, I played with the 5 year olds. The 6 year olds were independent and managed to play all 4 games. However, they love “Snap” the most!
• We decided to share the game with 6 year old class or “Soya Bean” Class. I got volunteers who would be giving directions of how to play the games. Chun Kit and Kwong Yong decided to teach “Open and Close”. Weei Xiang and Qian Joe decided to teach “Snap”. Zhe Qing wanted to teach the “Number” game. If time allows, we will teach 3 games. Otherwise, only 2 games as kids get confused with too many new games at a time.

e) Colouring: Oyster.
• The kids coloured a picture of oyster that consist of shells, internal organs as well as a pearl.
