The Game Assistants

Tuesday (24/05/2011)

a) Vocabulary recap
• We recapped the wordlist.

b) The Assistants.
• 5 kids volunteered to be the assistants to explain about our game rules. Today, Jun Yu volunteered. Group A consists of Chun Kit, Kwong Yong and Jun Yu who will be in-charge of the “Open and Close” Card game. Meanwhile, Group B will teach the “Snap” game whereby consists of Weei Xiang, Qian Joe ad Zhe Qing.
• At first, I got Group A to explain the game. It was funny and interesting because among their sentences, “You open 2 oyster cards. You open 2 stingray cards…etc”.
• I guided them step by step with simple instructions. Kwong Yong and Chun Kit asked me to be give the instructions to them so that they can memorise at home. 

c) Finding Nemo quiz.
• Questions were asked to see if the kids could remember about the movie. We started from the beginning. We recalled the ocean animals which Nemo’s father; Marlin met when searching for the lost Nemo. Then, we continued with the last part of the movie whereby when Marlin and Dory arrived in Sydney.
• The seagull helped them but unfortunately, they saw Nemo floating in a plastic bag. Actually, it was faking its death to deceive its new owner; the scary girl. The tank gang made so much mess that eventually Nemo escaped into the dentist’s sink and all the way into the ocean. Now the kids realized that every water sources that we discharge will go through the drain, river, sea and eventually ocean. Our water sources also come from there thus; chlorine is so important to kill the bacteria.
• Finally, Marlin met Nemo but Dory was caught by fishermen. The big net pulled a school of fish with Dory in it. Nemo quickly swam upwards to encourage the fish pull themselves down. Eventually, they escaped when the net broke. Thus, Nemo with a smaller fin can just be as magical as anyone. Marlin became braver and even funnier as a Clown Fish.
