a) Gathering
Everyone was so excited that they are going for mountain hiking. Both myself and Teacher Re Hong checked the kids’ stuff. Then, name tags were given before marching into the bus.
They chat non-stop for the first 40 minutes in the bus.
Zi Jun: “Look at my food!”
Song Chuan: “Teacher, I brought mooncakes!”
Le Xin: “Teacher, I have spaghetti and also a mat”.
It was so merry as we went together with the other 6-year-old class.
Along the journey, we talked about the “bridge, toll, Klang River, traffic jam and The Store shopping centre”.
We sang songs we learnt in the class. Among, “The Rainbow Song, You Are Special, MOTHER, Lompat Si katak lompat, Gelang si paku gelang, Chan Mali Chan, Senang Hati”.

b) Hill Hiking
* The kids marched up the hill in their prospective groups. However, all teachers were very alert of every kid’s needs and actions.
* About a qurter of the journey, we saw a long snake. We stopped for a while Teacher Hoo and 2 passer-bys helped to distract the snake. About 15 minutes later, it crawled away and the kids creeped quietly along the hill. We were relieved when we reached the higher point. Here, we saw a small stream which led us to a small waterfall. The kids washed their tiny hands and ate their bites. Eugene’ s mum baked us pizza and Ze yan said, that’s the best pizza he ever had! Wow…! Meabnwhile, Justin’s mum was so caring to bake us her delicious chocolate muffins!....Hmmmm!
* We went downhill and we amazed at the huge leaves. We fanned ourselves. The trees were also labeled mainly because they are reservation trees. They are so tall because they had to shoot themselves up to gasp the sunlight. These, were what the kids learnt.

c) A Real Waterfall!
All the while, we only see them from books and movies but today, it’s for real!
The kids changed into their shorts and t-shirts. They walked slowly into the cooling water…..wooohhh!
They splashed the water to their teachers and friends. We even did meditation and some “Qi Gong” haaa! Zi Jun spotted some water spider or “Daddy Long Legs”. They tried catching them but they were too fast! Ze Yan brought a net and everyone tried catching fish….but….sigh….there wasn’t any fish!
We took a break for lunch. Rest for a while. Then, the kids soaked themselves again! Ze yan, Shu Wei, Jin Shan, Eugene, Justin all started collecting rocks and they said they were building a Rock Castle. I suggested that they take the leaves and put them up as trees. They loved the idea!
Teachers were very cautious of shivering kids. We also checked if their lips turned purple indicating they are cold!
Whatsoever, I felt proud that these kids completed this hiking successfully. I am sure, any normal Primary School who have challenge climbing the hill but these kids of ours were excited all the way…….no complaints of tiredness! In fact, along the hiking; we sang songs to motivate one another
