Perfume Framed Cards

Friday (08/05/2009)

a) Perfume
It was very generous of Ze Yan to share his perfume with everyone in the class; as well as with the 5-year old class.
The kids touched up their picture frame as a Mothers’ Day gift.
Some added colourful sugar paper as flowers or borders.
Some checked their spelling, while some tied ribbons on the frame.
Finally, we queued to have our frames sprayed with Ze Yan’s perfume.

b) Rules of Baseball.
We are not going into the real Baseball which observes so many rules. We are more into kids’ Rounders. The kids preferred the name Baseball to Rounders.
2 teams: Team A and Team B. Team A’s leader; Ze Yan and Team B’s leader; Shu Wei picked draws and Team B got to be the “thrower”. Team A would be the “batter”. The other members of Team B would be standing around the field. They were the catchers. The other Team A members took turns to hit.
Kids took turns to change position upon 3 hits. The batter would have to run immediately making a home run. To achieve this, there are 4 hula hoops arranged in a diamond shape. The running batter must step into each hoop when he runs.
Half of the class enjoyed the game. They wanted to continue next week.

c) The Cheerleaders.
Some girls including jen Ning, Sharlene, Yun Wen and Shu Wei preferred to cheer. Jen Ning asked whether they can form a “Pom Pom” team.
Some kids didn’t know the meaning of “Cheerleaders” or “Pom Pom” team.
Thus, I showed them some newspaper cuttings. Even boys took part in competitions as they can perform stunts better than girls.
I taught the girls some simple steps which were similar to exercises…haaaa! They loved it and later modified the steps.
There would be further lessons on this in the coming lessons.
