I Can Read.

Monday (13/09/2010)
a) The leftover.
· During the teabreak, someone left half piece of a bun on the table and nobody admitted doing that. The kid was advised to be brave and just put the bun away. As we had just learnt about Mother Theresa helping the unfortunate ones last week, I thought that the kids would have a better understanding about food importance. After giving chances and chances to admit, nobody turned up.
· Thus, the class was not allowed to drink their favourite herbal tea for the next 3 days because unity means a class. The kids have to be more responsible and more caring towards their other friends.

b) Flash Cards game.
· We recapped words that we learnt throughout this theme. Among: Malaysia, malay, happy, sad, people, world, school, family, angry, unity and monitor. I also tested them the meaning for participation.
· Then, kids chose their favourite flash card. They sat randomly. I sang our favourite songs and once I stopped, they have to grab a kid and then teach the partner the word. They take turns. When they finished, they would sit down. When everyone sat down, I played another round. We played for about 5 rounds. Some kids came to ask me about their flash card word again.

c) Decorating our mini TV.
· Most kids had already drawn their small pictures comprising TV buttons and any other of their favourite pictures. Today, they cut and decorated their plain TV cardboard.
· Next, they also made the TV antenna by pasting paper onto the TV set. Those who finished, were advised to think of their storyline.
· 5-year old kids had to write the word “television” as a label.

d) Recycled Lantern.
· I reminded the kids to bring 1.5litre empty bottle for making a lantern. We hope to make on Wednesday. We are awaiting for everyone’s bottle before the craft.
