Do I know my planets?

a) Let’s play Spacecraft
I did assessment with the kids as to see whether they could understand what they have learnt throughout these 5 months. At the same time, I would know what is effective and otherwise. Thus, the kids and I grow together effectively. Meanwhile, the kids played their favourite “Spacecraft” game.

b) “The Space” Rhythmic Movement
Next, we continued with Rhythmic Movement on “The Spacecraft”. Today we practised with music. It started from waking up, changing into astronaut costume, getting into the spacecraft and zooming into the space. Then, they landed on the moon to discover some rocks. They picked them up and suddenly saw an alien nearby. They took photograph with a friendly alien and went home. They were very excited.

c) Quiz
After tea break, the kids did a quiz. They asked the meaning of quiz. Among the questions included:
i) What is Space made of?
ii) How was Milky Way Galaxy form?
iii) How were The Solar System form?
iv) What is “The Sun”?
From that explanation, EG said The Solar is related to Science and not “God” who made…….Hmmm…we are back to Question 1 which the kids asked initially. Well, as I told them earlier; we are currently learning about Science and we respect the everyone’s religion.

c) Continuation of Solar Craft
The kids gathered to take a look at their incomplete Solar craft. Today they had to paste their planets to the relevant thread. To assist them, numbers were written on the paperboard to guide them. JN, YP, M, SC, EG, YZ and SJ were able to understand the instructions whereas the others needed more guidance.
The challenges faced included recognizing numbers and avoiding the threads being tangled.
