A Fantastic Trip!

18/06/2008 (Wednesday)

a) The Wheels On the Bus
Most of the kids wore red and were very happy! They gathered and were given name tags. Then, they were divided into 4 groups to follow Teacher Ho, Teacher Pik Xia, Teacher Yap and myself. We boarded o the bus. Along the journey, they sang some English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin songs. They also recited their poems or “lun yi”. They shared their food and were also given bread as their tea break on the bus.

b) Planetarium Stadium
We arrived at the Planetarium Stadium. The kids went in together. They saw many things. These included astronauts’ swimsuits, their sleeping bags and their working cabins. There was also a space station model and the kids learnt to recognize the difference between a rocket. There was a video clip on the current little spaceships sent to Mars. The kids were thrilled about it. There was a palm screen. After the kids touched it, they can use their finger tips to touch the fluorescent light. The light will turn on with that touch. Ther was also a Black Hole whereby the kids could experience the glittering dark!

c) Lunch at KFC, KLCC
Then we continued our journey to KLCC, Twin Towers. Most kids didn’t know that KLCC is actually in the Twin Towers. They had their great lunch meal at KFC. They had Milo for their drink and also a toy each.

d) Petroscience
Then they approached the “Petroscience” on the fourth floor. They took the lift feeling excited! Upon there, they took rides in the cable car. Along the ride, they could watch the glittering walls which look like jungles. They also introduced the objective of Petroscience.
Then they reached The Space Station whereby they played many interesting games and activities. There was the“Invisible Image” Spot where the kids couldn’t touch the image they see. They also drove on a big car model. They operated the “driller” to dig the sand. It looks more like a tractor cum bulldozer. There was the “Earthquake” spot and the kids actually felt it! Then the kids went into a Mini Theater to watch a clip on Space. They enjoyed themselves and could recognize the names of planets shown.

e) Petroleum Platform
Next, they took a helicopter ride to observe the digging of petroleum. As they got off the helicopter, they went into a different part of Space Station. It’s called the “Petroleum Platform”. There they saw many creative activities. These included “Heart Beating Rate”, “Flickering Lights”, “The Focus Game” and car racing! They learnt to take turns to play…which was very good! They learnt to share what they like.

f) What a FUN day!
We took the cable car ride to Petroscience main entrance. We gathered to get on the bus. They were all tired and sleeping on the bus. Very hungry, tired but some like JN and YP said, “Petroscience” is FUN!
